Glidden Lodge Beach Resort is right next door to an outstanding restaurant that all our guests rave about. The restaurant is Donny’s Glidden Lodge (both the restaurant and the resort are located on Glidden Drive) and not only do they serve excellent food, they serve a really great cocktail too!

On most nights you will find the owner Tim behind the bar, but on this particular evening, Mary was mixing drinks and she mixed my personal favorite – a Whiskey Old Fashioned Press – to perfection!

We suggest you start your own Door County tradition in 2013: spend a weekend at the Glidden Lodge Beach Resort and while you’re there, dine at Donny’s right next door. And no driving necessary – it’s located a short walk through the parking lot.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM GLIDDEN!

  Time is flying and 2008 is almost gone.  New Years is upon us and we still have availability at Glidden for you to ring in the New Year while enjoying lovely accomodations on the shore of Lake Michigan.  The waves are still crashing against the shore and we do have some ice shelves but it is always wonderful to see the water all year round.

  There are New Year’s and New Year’s Eve activities happening around Door County.  Enjoy dinner over at the tempting Donny’s Glidden Lodge Restaurant.  Go out for the night or stay inside your nicely appointed suite and spend a relaxing time celebrating the New Year. 

  WOW have we got snow, snow, and more snow!!!  The cross county ski trails are OPEN!  However the snowmobile trails are closed at this time.  However more snow is in the forecast tommorrow so maybe they’ll open for the holiday.   Come enjoy the winter activites.  Skiing, snowmobiling, snow shoeing, tubing, snow boarding and more.  It’s fun for the whole family!

Happy Thanksgiving from Glidden Lodge!!

It’s quiet this week in Door County while we await Thanksgiving!  Pretty soon our hallways here at the Lodge will smell like Turkey with all the fixens!!  Remember to keep us in mind if you are ever looking at getting away from it all for the Thanksgiving holiday.  Our nicely appointed condos will be your home away from home with full kitchen and dining and living area for your whole family!!

Winter is Coming to Door County!!

The sun is bright but it is pretty cold here at Glidden.  Inside the unit you’ll be nice and toasty warm curling up next to the fireplace with a good book or enjoying a soak in the hot tub.  In the evening enjoy a dinner next door at Donny’s Restaurant a beautiful waterfront restaurant. 

Experience nature in Door County with a front row seat of Lake Michigan.  Walk along the shoreline to the nearby Whitefish Dunes State Park and just beyond is historic Cave Point County Park to view the limestone cliffs and caves.
